Researchers at the University of Oxford found particular parts of the brain are most susceptible to alcohol, diabetes and traffic-related air air pollution. Two-thirds of products meant for youngsters aged six months to a few years from Heinz, Nestle, Danone, Hipp, Hero and Hain Celestial contained excessive sugar, salt or energy. The rest had been found to be marketed misleadingly, such as snacks, purees, cereals and ready meals with few nutrients being labelled as ‘wholesome’. Out of 1,297 products assessed internationally, including 218 bought in UK supermarkets, none have been considered suitable for promotion for consumption to youngsters.
